Screenings by age

Screenings for men over 30

Men in their 30s have a short list: a blood pressure check every 3 to 5 years if normal, one hepatitis C and one HIV test if never done, and diabetes screening from 35 for those with overweight. (USPSTF, 2021) (USPSTF, 2020) (USPSTF, 2019) (USPSTF, 2021)

What starts and what can stop, 30 to 39

  • Prediabetes and type 2 diabetes: starts at 35, if you have overweight or obesity. (USPSTF, 2021)

PSA testing for prostate cancer is not in this list: for men 55 to 69 the USPSTF grades it C, a decision to make with your doctor. See prostate cancer screening by age.

Which of these repeat every year, and which only every few years or once: what tests should a man have every year.

Prevention for men over 30: medicines and habits

Not screenings, but USPSTF-graded steps that can apply to men 30 to 39. Each applies only to some people; the line says who.
